2024 was quite a year. It was a year of happiness and of profound sadness. A year of travel and a year of enjoying the coziness of home. A year of hope and hard work and of great disappointment on the national political scene, though the local scene was hopeful.
Like all years, there was a mix of the light and dark. The death of my dear sister Billie cast a shadow over everything, though I know I should be grateful that she is no longer in pain. Still, her absence is sorely felt by all of us who loved her.
This year I was blessed to be able to do lots of traveling, which I love. I was able to go to Newport, RI (twice!), Savannah, GA, and Barcelona, Spain. I saw enormous Gilded Age mansions, stately Southern homes, and the phenomenal architectural creations of Antoni Gaudi.
I enjoyed seafood in Newport, Southern specialties in Newport, and amazing meals in Spain.
Got to spend lots of time with friends and family, especially with my granddaughter Adeline, whose kindness and grace continues to grow.
And, dear readers, I was fortunate to be able to share my adventures with you.
Life is good.
Here’s wishing you all a healthy and happy 2025. May our worst fears never be realized, and our greatest dreams come true.
