HONESDALE, PA — Wow! Two students from Honesdale High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) were clearly surprised and moved by the gifts showered upon them by Honesdale Rotary for their school project, Motherly Grace. A short video taken at the presentation February 27th at Two Guys Restaurant in Honesdale shows Jordan Patzuk and Grace Albano hugging each other and literally jumping for joy as the club announced it was giving them $1,000—in addition to diapers, pampers and other related items donated by Rotary members. Motherly Grace, a resource for new and struggling mothers, has helped 34 children and 19 mothers in just the past two and a half months.  Rotary Club President Dana Scott said, “We were thrilled to be able to help this truly worthwhile project. Our members responded immediately and generously.”

Motherly Grace members are collecting new products such as diapers as well as gently used clothes, car seats, bottles and other items for young children. Anyone wishing to donate to Motherly Grace can contact FBLA advisor Laura Lockwood at llockwood@whsdk12.com or arrange a drop off at the Alpine, 1106 Texas-Palmyra Highway, between 9am – 3pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, by emailing gretch_24@outlook.com or calling Gretchen (570) 253-5899.

Honesdale Rotary is a service club, part of Honesdale Rotary International which counts close to two million members worldwide.  The club welcomes new members.
