How to know if you are making the right decision

Posted

Two months ago, I started working with an acne specialist from the UK. I’ve struggled with acne since I was a teenager, and it’s become worse as I’ve gotten older. Having acne is not something anyone wants to deal with, and I’ve tried what feels like everything to clear it up, but I hadn’t cracked the code.

If you struggle, or have struggled with acne, you know that it can severely affect your confidence and quality of life, and so I decided it’s time to seriously find a way to solve this situation.

I came across the specialist I’m now working with on a podcast I was listening to while I was on a walk in Tennessee. She explained how she has helped so many people just like me heal their acne and help their skin become more resilient to acne triggers, and it sounded like the perfect fit. I could recognize myself in the people she was describing that she was able to help, and I felt something that felt like excitement begin to build in my body. I wasn’t sure if it was possible for me to be excited about my acne, but I listened to the feeling.

A few weeks later, I decided to reach out to her and apply to be a client. I was extremely nervous because I’d made so many decisions to heal my acne up until this point, and none of them had worked. What would make this time any different? Although I was afraid of failing again, I didn’t let that stop me as I submitted my application.

About one month later, I was onboarded, she wrote my protocol, and I was ready to get started healing my acne once and for all.

I’m only two months into this new part of my health journey, and my skin hasn’t been as clear as it is today in years. We’ve been working on decreasing inflammation in my body, as that is one of the main triggers for my acne development.

This has required me to make a lot of dietary changes, add in a few supplements, and buy an entirely new line of skincare products. I am extremely happy with my progress so far, and I have three ideas as to why I think it’s working this time and how I know I made the right decision.

The first reason I know I made the right decision is because when I actually chose to apply to be a client and to work with my coach, I became excited and could see my path to acne-free skin more clearly. I’ve noticed that when I make decisions that are in my highest good and are in line with the direction I want to go, I have a physical reaction in my body. I become more energized, excited, and it feels like the pieces to the puzzle are clicking together.

Second, although following my new protocol has required me to make many hard decisions on what I eat and how I live every day, following it feels easier than life did beforehand. Living with acne is hard and following the protocol to heal it is also hard, but it always feels better to choose the hard option that will get you the results you desire. I’ve had to decide which obstacle I’d rather face: changing my habits or living with acne, and the choice I made is making my life easier.

The third reason I know I made the right decision and that I believe it’s working this time is because I trust my coach and I’m fully committed. In the past, I hadn’t been fully committed to my results, and therefore I hadn’t been fully committed to the process either. Half-in commitments don’t get results.

If you notice you’re half-in, consider if it’s just you or if there are other factors in place that are preventing you from committing 100%. Whether or not you believe it’s going to work, you’re right.
