Caring for pooches was the name of the game at last Sunday’s Halloween Parade in Roscoe.

Or should we say Howl-o-Ween? The Red Rose Motel played host to a dog version of the traditional Halloween costume event with 23 costumed pups on hand to strut their stuff.

Co-sponsored by The Wemoc and Hound Books, the event was thrown to fundraise for Liberty’s Catskill Animal Rescue — better known as CARE.

Donations were made in honor of Bear, the late (and beloved) Pomeranian pup of The Wemoc founder Nicholas Routzen.

According to Red Rose’s Melissa Kawecki, when donations closed this week, a total of $1,200 had been collected for the non-profit shelter.
