Irish Eyes smile on Jeffersonville Parade

Posted

It’s said that when Irish eyes are smiling it’s like a “morn’ in spring,” and spring is just what came to Jeffersonville in time for the village’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday.

The warm temperatures made for a festive day as the Ancient Order of Hibernians Sullivan Brothers brought their annual event to town. Beginning 12 years ago, the celebration of all things Irish has become a tradition in the small hamlet, with a green stripe painted down Main Street to lead the revelers along the parade route.

This year’s parade grand marshal honors went to Youngsville resident Pat Welsh in celebration of his Irish roots. Joining Welsh on the parade were dozens of local fire departments, charitable organizations, churches and more.
