It’s PA 4-H Week at the Tri-Gal 4-H Club

HONESDALE, PA — March 17-23 is 4-H in Pennsylvania and Tri-Gal 4-H is celebrating by spreading the word about all the opportunities the 4-H program offers, especially our own club’s community service projects, events and the projects our members like the most.

4-H has its roots in growing and canning clubs that began in the 1800’s. By the 1900’s agricultural extension agencies began “cultivating” 4-H clubs. During the 1960’s 4-H clubs expanded beyond agricultural learning. Now in its 112th year, Pennsylvania 4-H began in Mercer County with the very first club. Today, there are 4-H clubs in all 67 counties of our state offering not only livestock projects but arts, robotics, engineering, financial planning, even create your own project options.

Tri-Gal 4-H Club is a very active club completing over 20 community service projects a year and is growing in membership. Under the leadership of 5 screened volunteer leaders, our club has been named “Super Club of the Year” many times over the years and is proud of our 4-H family! Alumni have careers in veterinary science, engineering, oil and gas industry, OSHA, education, business ownership just to name a few and if asked, they will tell you that their roots started with the 4-H program!

Join us in celebrating all that is 4-H in Pennsylvania! Look for our posters at area businesses and follow us on Facebook.
