Jane Mary Daly Johnson was born in New York City May 7, 1948. Jane loved the country and decided to move to Sullivan County as a young adult with her daughter Patricia, joining family members that were living ‘Upstate’. Shortly after moving to Hasbrouck, Jane began a career in health care as a nurse’s aide at Walnut Mountain Nursing Home in Liberty, New York.  Jane took great pride in her work, making sure the patients were clean and well dressed for family visits.  Jane left Walnut Mountain to work at the Sullivan County Adult Day Care Facility, where she continued to take great care of the patients until she retired. Jane realized she missed working and returned a couple of years later to work part time at the front desk. Jane loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, and tending to her houseplants. She passed away on January 15, 2024 at her home in Grahamsville.

Jane is survived by her sister, Carol Cordero (Louis); brother, Joseph Baranek; her daughter, Patricia Pobega; her son, Michael Johnson (Savannah); granddaughter, Allanna McAllister (Jonathan); grandson, Grayson Johnson; her great-granddaughters, Scarlett and Morgan McAllister; her niece, Lisa Cordero; her nephews, Louis Cordero and Joseph Cordero (Dina); her dog Chloe; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Jane Vicava Daly Baranek; her father, Charles Daly; stepfather, Joseph Baranek; her younger sister, Miriam Betancourt; and brothers, Charles Baranek, and John Baranek.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 20 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello, where a funeral service started at 4pm. Cremation followed the services.
