The birds sure are chirping away with Spring finally here although it snow-showered again this week, a couple of times! Not too many songbirds and I don’t seem to have as many Mourning Doves. A pesky hawk may be the reason. Some info I wasn’t aware of these doves spend 90% of their time on the ground cleaning up to 1,000 weed seeds and spilled grains from your feeders from the messy other birds eating. By eating up the spilled seeds the doves prevent rotting seeds to attract mice and rats to your house. So, don’t shoo them away!
A friendly reminder the NYS Burn Ban is in effect now through May 14. No burning brush, sticks, leaves or yard debris, etc.
Please let me know if you have any news to share!
