Such beautiful Summerlike weather! All our farmers are working hard to get their hay baled and in. Fall is unofficially here this week with school starting. Hard to believe, the warmer months seem to always fly by, especially to the teachers and students!

Lots of “stuff” happening! Many dates to put on your calendars…the Jeff Jamboree, Tractor Parade & Annual Duck Race on Saturday, the 16th with more vendors than ever before!

Jeffersonville is welcoming the “Jeffersonville Cigar Shop” celebrating its grand opening on September 8th. This establishment promises to redefine the cigar experience, offering a luxurious space for enthusiasts to unwind and savor the world of fine cigars. Owned by Ryan Terracciano, Rich Sheldon and Chris Vieiro, the shop boasts a wide array of cigars from around the world. “We’ve curated a selection of the finest cigars for every palate,” said Rich. The shop plans to host events like cigar tastings, live music, and workshops, making it a dynamic hub for the local cigar community. Per Ryan, “Jeffersonville Cigar Shop” promises unforgettable experiences and a dedication to the art of cigar enjoyment. Also, at “The Catskill Outdoorsman,” (same building) several different types of Archery  programs for the entire family: Youth Archery: USA Archery JOAD Program- for young and aspiring archers, features the USA Archery JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program. This youth-focused initiative nurtures talent, discipline, and sportsmanship in budding archers. The Olympic Archery: Precision and Focus- that highlights the precision and intense focus required in Olympic archery. It is a chance to appreciate the level of dedication and training that goes into competing on the grandest sporting stage. Bare Bow: A Return to Archery’s Roots- showcasing the bare bow style. Archers in this category rely on their skills alone, using minimalistic equipment. It is a tribute to the timeless essence of archery, where technique and expertise take center stage. Hunter Class Open: Hitting the Mark in the Great Outdoors -experience archery in its natural habitat with the Hunter Class Open category. These archers are experts at hitting targets under challenging, real-world conditions. It is a display of archery’s practical applications in hunting and outdoor pursuits. Join “The Cacklin’ Hen” for their Annual Fall Fest, located at 4052 State Route 52, Youngsville, on September 23rd from noon until 7 ish. Tickets are $12 each. Join them for some arts & crafts, pumpkin picking & painting, games with prizes, local vendors, music, face painting and more. Food and refreshments available for sale. A free viewing of Hocus Pocus –please bring your blankets and chairs. FMI: 845-482-2700.

The Farm Fest on Saturday, September 30th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hilly Acres Farm located at 32 Wahl Rd., Jeffersonville. Free admission. Enjoy farm fresh food, Music by “Poison Love,” fun and games, antique tractors, hayrides, pumpkin decorating, exhibitions by the 4-H -Future Farmers of America and enjoy local craft vendors too.
