Project Linus is a National non-profit organization with local chapters and thousands of willing volunteers throughout the USA. The mission of this most worthwhile organization is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gift of new, handmade blankets, quilts, and Afghan’s, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” It is also our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities for the benefit of children. If you would like to work on a project for Project Linus, please contact Barbara at bjm292@cornell.edu to discuss requirements from Project Linus for blankets and to arrange drop off of your completed project.

Time for cold weather…something I saw on the “Volunteers Firefighters” Facebook page that I feel is very important to share here. Do NOT plug space heaters into power strips or extension cords, place space heaters directly into the wall outlet. Power strips are not designed to handle the high current flow required by a space heater and can overheat causing a fire.

Please let me know if you have any news to share!
