One of our volunteer firemen of the Protection Hose Company No. 1 just celebrated his 91st birthday! Congratulations, Happy Birthday, and best wishes to Peter J. Cummings! 

Jack Costello is once again asking everyone to be a part of the 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon (celebrating their 46th year) on Friday, February 16th at Resorts World Catskills from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year’s proceeds will benefit toward the treatment of heart disease locally for: Sullivan 180 (grants to help make changes that improve the health of our youth & our first responders), A Single Bite (a four-part Real Food Education Program to educate Sullivan County students about healthy choices), Steam Fund (using music, songwriting, mindfulness, and movement to provide children with tools to make healthier choices) and Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills who will receive funding to purchase state of the art Echocardiogram Equipment.

“Ratty Books” is SO EXCITED! Friend of Ratty @lifeof_janee has volunteered to share her Korean Lunar New Year traditions (Seollal) with them Saturday, February 10th at 10 a.m. She will be reading a few books, sharing some sweet traditional snacks, and wearing her wedding hanbok! Please come for this VERY SPECIAL story club! Asking for a RSVP this time so we know how many treats to provide. Email hullo@rattybooks.com or stop in the store! Also, free story time every Saturday and Monday morning at 10 a.m.

Time for the delicious Pancake Breakfast at the Youngsville Fire Department (located at 1822 Shandelee Road) on Sunday, February 18th from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. All you can eat served family style, pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and tea. Adults and children $10 with children under 5 free. 

Save the Date! Protection Hose Company No.1 of Jeffersonville is hosting their 22nd Annual Chicken Barbeque on Sunday, March 24th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at their Firehouse located on Main Street. Takeouts Only for $15 each. Come out and enjoy a delicious dinner while supporting your volunteers. 

Suffering from the “Winter Blues” ? Tired of this weird weather? The Western Sullivan Public Library offers “Sew-cial Circle” at their Jeffersonville Branch every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. Come out and join fellow needleworkers to talk through and share projects you are working on. This group is open to cross stitchers, embroidery fanatics and needlepoint lovers. Basic supplies are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Call 845-482-4350 with questions.

Save the Date! The Jeff Jamboree is on Saturday, September 14th this year! The Annual Tractor Parade and  Duck Race too! A delicious Pancake Breakfast at the 1st Presbyterian Church is a great way to start a fun-filled day on Main Street! Butch Peters will be there with his beautiful draft horses’ team, walk along Main Street and enjoy the melodies of the “Little Sparrow” musicians while you shop with the vendors.
