The Friends of the Western Sullivan Public Library want you to join them for a free, private tour of Buck Brook Alpaca Farm! A Family Farm Tour on Thursday, July 17 at 10:30am. Enjoy fabulous fiber-makers and lots of fun and learning for all ages. Register at www.wsplonline.org.
Also, you are invited to two local history presentations by Leslie Loeffel (originally from Kenoza Lake) being held at the WSPL at the Jeffersonville Branch. The first one is Wednesday, July 23 at 6:30pm about the history of Jeffersonville, including “Coaching Days.” The second is Thursday, July 24 at 5pm and is about the Fern Hotel in Kenoza Lake.
The White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church is sponsoring their 30th Annual Chicken BBQ on Saturday, July 26 at 4pm until sold out. It will be held at the White Sulphur Springs Fireman’s Park on Shore Road in White Sulphur Springs. All tickets are $15 and only sold at the door. You can eat in or takeout your dinner of chicken, baked potato, Joyce’s Famous Homemade Coleslaw, corn on the cob, roll and homemade dessert. For more information call 845-292-2683.
The ”Red Dogs Organization” is still accepting registrations ! If you know anyone still looking to register for flag, tackle, or cheerleading, please remind them to get those forms in as soon as possible. If you need a registration form, email reddogsorganization@gmail.com and they will send one to you! The Red Dog Youth Football Organization teaches boys and girls ages 5-12 the fundamentals of football and cheerleading! The Red Dogs learn important characteristics like teamwork, discipline, loyalty, and sportsmanship all while having fun and playing ball. They also participate in our parades down Main Street in Jeffersonville! The JEMS group is very excited to have them at The Backyard Park in Jeffersonville on the Free Outdoor movie night Friday, August 1! The movie of the night is, of course, “Little Giants.” Bring your friends and family to this great fun-filled family time and enjoy the Red Dogs too! The ”Turtle Trot” 5K Run and Walk and 10K Run are being held on Saturday, July 12. It will begin at the Kenoza Lake Fire House with the 10K beginning at 8am and the 5K at 8:15am. The proceeds from this event are to help a local family struggling with a life-threatening illness. Please consider participating!
