Please  donate blood In Memory of Audra Spath, a special woman, that passed away too soon from a pulmonary embolism. Audra was a well-known and well-loved member of the Hankins/Fremont Community, a teacher, and devoted wife and mother. I also had the privilege of working with her –  a dedicated NYS EMT. The Blood Drive is being held at the Hankins Fremont Center Fire Department, located at 20 Newman Hill Rd., Hankins, NY 12741 on Saturday, October 25 from 9am-2pm. Walk-ins are welcomed but appointments are suggested. Please call 1-800-Red Cross or visit RedCrossBlood.org. There will be a 50/50 and a raffle just for the blood donors! Proceeds go towards The Audra Sipple Spath Scholarship. Please honor her memory by giving to others in need and possibly saving a life in her memory.

Exciting news! The “Solstice and Ash Mystic Shoppe & Scandal Broth Room” are having a Grand Re-opening this Saturday from 10am-5pm. The Shoppe is ready to go with lots of new merchandise in a bigger space that includes a beautiful backyard to relax by the creek. The Tarot Parlor will be open from 12-4pm with readings from Mystical Tarot by Addie. Come out and shop local while you enjoy Nancy’s new Shoppe!

Do not forget the “Live, Love, Serve 5K being hosted by the  “Small Town Country 4-H” Group on Sunday, October 19 beginning at 9am in Hortonville. Registration is $25 with 4-H Youth Members $15. Come out and support your youth and 4-H.

Did you know when you hear birds singing before the sun rises it means they slept in your yard overnight? Their pre-dawn chorus is their way of saying your yard feels safe enough to call home.

Please be careful when you put up your Halloween decorations outdoors that are webs or any type of webbing (fake spider webs too) as they can catch/trap the birds.
