Rianne Schwartz from Myers Century Farm visited the Sullivan West Elementary After School Ag Club to share her expertise in the agricultural area. Rianne is the owner of Ri’s Farm Made Ice Cream at Myers Century Farm, a 7^th generation farm in Jeffersonville. The farm is known for transforming their farm’s milk into high-quality ice cream and other dairy products, open 24/7 for self-service. The students had an incredible experience making fresh butter and thank her for her commitment to educating our future generations about agriculture.

Old apples can be a great feast for your hungry winter birds! Leave them in your yard and watch as your birds feast on the fruit. Wonder if the two gray squirrels (yes, now I have two of the buggers that keep opening my feeder and gorging on the birdseed) would bring more of their friends or stay away from the feeder? Remember, breadcrumbs fill up the birds giving them no energy and can cause health problems. They love the black oil sunflower seeds, suet, or unsalted peanuts.

Stay warm and let me know if you have anything you would like to share!
