The Jeff Jamboree last Saturday was one of the best that was ever held! The weather was sunny and warm and town was full of families and their children having a great day.

Many rode on the wagon pulled by two of Butch Peters beautiful draft horses. The tractor parade held at noon boasted over 50 tractors driven by kids of all ages. Lance Hughson pulled a decorated hay wagon full of children and their moms.

Many thanks to Jim and Diane Hughson for organizing the tractor parade and also for bringing up the end of the parade on their own tractor. Everyone said the Pancake Breakfast held at the Presbyterian Church was delicious.

Rianne Erlwein and her helpers from the Creamery at Myers Century Farm sold delicious, creamy ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. At the Farm they sell vanilla bean, chocolate, maple cream, cookies & cream and cookie dough and many new flavors as well as assorted ice cream cookie sandwiches! Milk is also offered in chocolate, maple, coffee and, of course, white A2A2 and a cream line.

Pick up available from 1-4 p.m. on Saturdays at 112 Earl Myers Road in Jeffersonville. They have an online store at www.myerscenturyfarm.com, their email is myerscenturyfarm@gmail.com and the farm number is (845) 482-3053! Contact them today and enjoy some fresh farm treats! All of us really enjoyed their ice cream at the Jamboree (and I love their chocolate milk too).

The duck race was lots of fun with the children and their adult helpers in the water rounding up the winning ducks and trying to catch the getaways. Daffy Duck walked along Main Street visiting with the children and posing for lots of pictures.

Winners were: First place Lisa Heinrich $300, Second Place Joanne Madden, Third Place Bob Simpson and the $50 Pokey Duck winner was Laurie Costello Donovan, daughter of Jack & Doris Costello who lives in Texas.

The JEMS, our beautification group, dedicated a dogwood tree to one of their members, Barbara Yewchuk, for her many years of dedicated hard work and gardening experience maintaining the many gardens in town.

You could always find her weeding, planting and working tirelessly on even the warmest days taking care of the many planters and gardens down Main Street. Barbara has “retired” but still continues to give advice as asked, and to let you know when you pull out a flower thinking it’s a weed!

Sullivan County’s “Poet Laureate” Eric Baylin read a poem he wrote about the duck race with gusto while standing on the bridge, much to the delight of everyone!
