Joan Booth celebrated for 50 years of library service

MONTICELLO — The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library held a surprise celebration on Tuesday for Joan Booth, who has been working there for the past 50 years.

Booth is primarily a library clerk who also assists with repairing various library materials.

The celebration included a slideshow about Booth, showcasing photos of her as well as some kind messages and background history.

“Booth started working at the Ethelbert Crawford Public Library in 1973. She has been an integral part of the team, touching the lives of the community and enriching the library with her spunk and ingenuity. Her knowledge of repair and care for library material is matched by none other,” the slideshow presented.
