John Mulvey passed away peacefully in his home on May 5th, after an illness. A private, independent man, John had a huge heart, held strong beliefs, and loved his family.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Mulvey, two children, Sarah and Tim; two grandchildren, Mattea and Beatrice; three siblings, Tom, Eileen and her husband Bob, and Mickey and his wife Donna; nieces, nephews, friends, one dog (Pretzel) and two cats. He loved his animals as family. He now joins his father, Joseph, and brother Edmond in heaven.
John was compassionate towards all animals, had an incredible garden, loved listening to music and smoking pot. He was smart, charismatic, and forever looking for happiness in life.
He was a paradox, full of humanity and human contradictions: A vegetarian who owned a hunting store for many years. John was a serial entrepreneur with various professional endeavors who traveled the country and was lucky enough to persuade a couple of wonderful women to spend meaningful years of their life with him.
His family would like to extend special thanks to Kevin Kroeger, a friend from childhood who was there for him in his illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Rock Hill SPCA.
Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello. For additional information please visit www.kennyfuneralhome.com.
