Kathy, “Mrs. Radar Ray,” passed away on May 8 surrounded by loved ones. She was born Kathleen Rose Sheehan in Glendale, Queens. She later moved to Bethel, NY where she lived the rest of her 60+ years. In 1969 she even helped festivalgoers by handing out food as they navigated Woodstock.

Kathy worked at the Lakeview Diner for years, and at age 35, decided to attend SUNY Sullivan where she earned her RN license. She worked at Harris Community, and then Day Top Village, from which she retired as a Nursing Supervisor.

In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, specifically going on cruises, with her husband Raymond. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and hosting holidays, especially Christmas.

Kathy is survived by her husband Raymond “Radar Ray” Neuenhoff; her children, Kevin and his wife Tricia, Richard “Skip,” and daughter-in- law, Tammy (Glenn); her grandchildren, Paige (Christopher), Ashley, Brooke, Hunter, James, Anthony, Courtney, Cassandra, and Jake; a great-grandson, Dolenn, two great-granddaughters; her brother, Jack, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom looked forward to her annual birthday call and song. She also had several special friends over the years whom she loved: Sonia, Cathy, Joan, Bev, Lita, Harriett, and Claire.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Maxine and Joe; brother, Dennis; her first husband, Richard LaPolt; children Glenn “Bubba,” Laura, and Todd, and daughter-in-law, Shona (Richard).

Her family invites you to join them for services on Saturday, May 16 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12749. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm, a service at 1pm, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in White Lake and gathering at Sorella Pizzeria and Restaurant.

Kathy was an active member of the White Lake Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the White Lake Fire Department, PO Box 51, White Lake, NY 12786.
