Kenneth J. Stewart of Roscoe, NY, a retired dairy farmer and a lifelong resident died Thursday, May 5, 2022 at his home in Roscoe, NY. He was 91.
The son of the late Kenneth A. and Nellie A. Kessler Stewart, he was born August 31, 1930 in Roscoe, NY.
Ken (and his wife Helen) worked his family dairy farm for over 40 years. He was a lifelong member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church where he had served on the Board of Sessions. As a teen, he had been active in the 4-H where he was a NYS Representative for the Club Congress in Chicago; he had been a member of the Sullivan County Cooperative Extension for over 50 years; had traveled extensively with “Elsie” the Borden Cow; was a Master Forester and is a former member of the Town of Rockland Zoning Board.
Survivors include his devoted wife of nearly 72 years, Helen Wilcox Stewart, at Home; one son, Gary Stewart and his wife Jean of Baldwinsville, NY; two daughters, Sharon Beuth and her husband Larry of Greene, NY and Bonnie Young and her husband Leigh of Riverhead, NY; three grandchildren, Michael Beuth and his wife Carol, Brianna Kaminski and her husband Theo and Sean Stewart; four great-grandchildren, Sam, Aurora, Caleigh and Eva. He was predeceasd by a son, David Stewart and a sister, Naomi Stewart.
Visitation was held Monday, May 9, 2022 from 9 am - 10:45 am in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.
Funeral services were Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11am in the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, Old Route 17, Roscoe, NY. Pastor Sharon Branning officiated.
Burial was private in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
