Bethel – Lake Superior State Park in Bethel will open for boat rentals and picnicking on Saturday, May 28, and continue to operate every weekend through the end of June, when it will commence daily operations through Labor Day.
Season Passes
Sullivan County residents and property owners can also visit Lake Superior State Park, 342 Dr. Duggan Road, in Bethel during operating hours to get a season pass.
Each pass is $15 per person, which provides free entry into the park for the season.
First-time applicants need to bring proof of local residency or property ownership. Holders of 2021 season passes do not have to provide proof of residency and can simply apply by mail (or in person at Lake Superior).
Hours
Hours are Mondays-Thursdays 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Fridays-Sundays 9 a.m.-7 p.m., subject to weather conditions.
Swimming starts June 18
The beach area will open for swimming beginning the weekend of Father’s Day, June 18 & 19. Daily admission during beach hours is $5 per person.
Children under 3-years-old and veterans who present a valid ID issued through the Sullivan County Return the F.A.V.O.R. program can enter for free.
Lake Superior also participates in the Golden Park Program, which grants New York State senior citizens free admission to the park on weekdays only (but not weekends or holidays).
Boats available
Rowboat and paddleboat rentals, vending machines, the playground, and the bathhouse will all be in operation during regular beach hours.
