Linda T. Bosch, 88, of Highland Lake, New York, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 24, at the Garnet Medical Center in Middletown, New York.

Linda was born on August 15, 1938, in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Theodore G. Rauscher and Ruth C. Rauscher.

Linda moved around a few times while growing up. She had many fond memories of Freeport, Long Island, Cape May Courthouse, NJ, Wildwood Crest, NJ, and her Aunt Kate’s farm near Milford, NJ. Some of her fondest childhood memories were made during the summers spent on Criehaven Island, off the coast of Maine, surrounded by the beauty and wonder of nature.

Linda attended high school in the Wildwood and Cape May area of New Jersey before continuing her education at Beaver College in PA and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, where she studied art. She also later attended SCCC in New York where she pursued her studies in poetry. A lifelong artist and poet, creativity remained an important part of her life.

Linda met the love of her life, Frederick Bosch, at the Narrowsburg Fireman’s Field Day on July 4, 1961. The two were married on August 4, 1962, and shared more than six decades of marriage.

Linda generously volunteered in the art department at Eldred Central School. She also was a published author and served for more than five years as a weekly columnist for The Sullivan County Democrat, where she shared her poetry and prose with the community.

She had many interests and passions. Linda loved camping, canoeing, walking through the woods, gardening, playing the piano, writing poetry, creating artworks, and watching animals in nature. She had a particular fascination with sharks, giant squid, black jaguars, astronomy, astrology, and cinema, and especially learning and sharing interesting facts about actors and actresses. She also had a special ability to listen to others and genuinely enjoyed helping people work through their problems.

For more than two years, Linda resided at Achieve Nursing Home, where she continued to pursue the creative passions that had been such an important part of her life. She continued writing poetry and creating art, never losing her love of creativity, learning, and self-expression.

Linda was predeceased by her son, Henry Bosch. She is survived by her devoted husband, Frederick Bosch; her son, Edward Bosch; her daughter, Wendy Seward; her grandchildren, Sarah Amalfi, Steven McCauliff, and William Seward; and three great-grandchildren.

Linda will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her love of nature and animals, her curiosity about the world, her compassion for others, and the many ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her words, artwork, poetry, and memories will remain a lasting part of the lives of the people who loved her.

Linda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, August 30, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday, August 31, from 10:00am to 11:00am.  Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 31, at 11:00am at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home of Barryville, NY., 3412 SR 97, Barryville, NY 12719.
