GRAHAMSVILLE — After reaching the Section IX Class C final last season, the Tri-Valley Lady Bears look poised to make a return run. Tri-Valley opened their divisional matchups at home against Seward and controlled the game from wire to wire, winning 10-0.

Tri-Valley netted their first goal off a re-directed corner kick and never looked back, finding the back of the net three more times in the first half for a 4-0 lead at the break.

The scoring parade continued in the second half as the Bears rallied for six more goals en route to a dominant victory over Seward.

Kendall McGregor led the offense with four goals in the game. Other scorers included Allyson Chevalier (2), Kaytlyn Ingrassia, Abbigail Mentnech, Grace Gozza and Jenna Carmody.

Ingrassia also assisted on four goals, and Carmody added two assists as well.

Most of the Tri-Valley squad from last year’s Section IX Class C runner up team has returned for the 2023-24 season.

“This was our first league game but our second game overall,” Coach Kayla Connolly said. “It feels good to start with a league win coming off of our success last year.”

The Lady Bears defeated Chester 3-1 in the season opener before the league match against Seward. They’ll be on the road for the first time this afternoon against Eldred.
