T

here is less than one month until the next General Election on November 4 in Sullivan County. While off-year elections may not get as much attention as Presidential elections, it’s still worthy of your time to familiarize yourself with who is running and where and when you can vote.

Early voting begins on Saturday, October 25 and goes until Sunday, November 2. There are two locations for early voting: the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello and Sullivan County Public Health in Liberty. (If you are voting on Election Day, November 4, you go to your normal poll site).

A full list of candidates can be found on the Sullivan County Board of Elections website (www.sullivanny.gov/Departments/Elections).

And you can get to know the candidates a little better right here on the pages of the Sullivan County Democrat.

Throughout the rest of October we will be running candidate statements from those who choose to send them in.

It is a nice notion when someone sends theirs in and thanks us for including this valuable public service that benefits the community.

If you are running for an elected position and haven’t sent your candidate statement in yet, you can send it to editor@sc-democrat.com.

Likewise, you can send letters of support for a candidate by sending it to the same email as above (deadline: October 22).

Before November 4, make a plan to get out there and vote.
