MONTICELLO – Monticello Mayor Rochelle Massey joined local children for a day of excitement and civic engagement at the Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark on Friday, March 14. The Village of Monticello Youth Civic Engagement Day welcomed 75 children from the community for a day filled with fun and learning from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The participating youth enjoyed the resort’s indoor waterpark, which features slides, wave pools and attractions designed for all ages. The event was funded by a grant from the county, which covered both admission and lunch for all attendees.

“Today is about more than just having fun; it’s about fostering a sense of community, encouraging civic engagement, and showing our young people the importance of coming together as a community,” said Mayor Rochelle Massey. “I am proud to see so many of our future leaders enjoying a day of connection, fun, and learning, and I look forward to more initiatives that provide our youth with the tools to shape a positive future for Monticello.”

Children spent the day engaging in activities, creating memories, and forming bonds in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The event further reinforced the Village of Monticello’s dedication to offering young residents valuable opportunities to develop civic responsibility and community involvement.
