NARROWSBURG — Rising food costs shouldn’t stand in the way of nourishing meals. That’s why the Narrowsburg Farmers’ Market is launching Meals on a Budget — a free, seasonal cooking series designed to help community members prepare delicious, nutritious meals for just $2 to $4 per serving.

Held one Saturday each month from July through October, this interactive series features a guided farmers’ market tour, a live cooking demonstration, a shared tasting meal, and practical tips for shopping smart, reducing food waste, and stretching seasonal ingredients.

“We believe everyone deserves access to nourishing food and the confidence to prepare it,” say organizers. “Meals on a Budget was created to share simple skills, fresh inspiration, and a deeper connection to food — all while honoring affordability.”

Series Dates and Themes

• Saturday, July 19 – Egg-cellent Meals on a Budget

•Saturday, August 16 – Budget Bowls That Satisfy

•Saturday, Septem-ber 20 – Pasta Night, Market Style

•Saturday, October 18 – Fried Rice That Fills

Each session runs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., rain or shine. Participants will meet at the picnic table area of the Narrowsburg Farmers’ Market, and the cooking demonstrations will take place inside The Narrowsburg Union.

The series is free and open to the public; however, pre-registration is required and space is limited. Registered participants will also receive a same-day discount to use at select market vendors. To reserve a spot, visit narrows burgfarmersmarket.org/budget-meals.

This community pro-gram is made possible with generous support from Sullivan 180, The Narrowsburg Union, and the Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry.
