Message is clear: Get out and vote!

SULLIVAN COUNTY – Charlie Barbuti has blue blood in his veins. The former Supervisor of the Town of Liberty and second generation Liberty business owner  (now retired) has Democratic Party passion going back to his dad, Charlie Sr., who was a staunch and active Democrat in the political party.

Town of Callicoon Supervisor Tom Bose is all red. Coming from a town that routinely elects a Republican slate, Tom is active in party politics as well as serving his town as head of its government.

Judging from the recent letters which were submitted to the Sullivan County Democrat, the two long-time friends don’t agree on much in the way of candidates but they do agree on one thing – it’s important to vote!

The following statement was submitted jointly by the two gentlemen, and our editors, given the current state of politics in our country, thought the message was too good to be missed.

Dear Reader,

If you are a loyal reader of this paper, you may have read Letters to the Editor from us (Tom Bose and Charlie Barbuti) informing you, the voters, of our choices to serve as our next US Congressman and why you should vote for them on Election Day.  We disagreed. Tom supports Marc Molinaro,  and Charlie supports Josh Riley.

One thing that we can agree on is the importance of YOUR vote. Please note that in addition to your ability to vote on Election Day, you can now vote THIS weekend on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, November 4, 5, and 6, at the Sullivan County Government Center from 9 am to 5 pm – or on Election Day at your regular polling place.

Our choices will not decide this election, (unless the election is decided by one vote).  Your choices will!

We are still working on something else we agree on, but that may take some time.

Respectfully,

Tom Bose

Charlie Barbuti
