Narrowsburg native Jake Lang involved in NYC protest incident

NEW YORK CITY – Former Narrowsburg and Pennsylvania resident Edward “Jake” Lang organized a “Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City” demonstration on March 7 outside of Gracie Mansion, the home of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who is Muslim.

In videos on social media, it appears that Lang brought a goat in a van and dead pig and spoke to a small crowd. According to multiple new reports, a group of counter protesters showed up and a chaotic and violent scene unfolded.

In what has now made national news, an “improvised explosive device” was thrown at the scene, according to New York Police Department.

Police have arrested two men, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, in connection with the matter. Another device was discovered at the scene, but neither detonated and no injuries were reported. Federal officials say the men were inspired by ISIS (the Islamic State).

On his social media pages, Lang said, “Thank you Jesus for saving my life, the bomb landed three feet in front of me but didn’t go off.”

Lang has been traveling around the country, calling himself “The Crusaders” organizing anti-Muslim and pro-Christian protests.

The Narrowsburg native was previously indicted for his actions on January 6, 2021 during a riot at the Capitol, and was held in prison for four-plus years before being pardoned by President Donald Trump last year.

In the past few months, Lang has been arrested twice. First for allegedly vandalizing property in Minnesota, and again in March stemming from his actions at a January 6 five-year anniversary event in Washington DC.

According to NBC News, Lang faces a misdemeanor charge in D.C. Superior Court, for making  “constituted threats” against a Metropolitan Police Commander saying he should be “put down like a dead dog” and “hung” in front of the Capitol.

Lang, who graduated from Delaware Valley High School in Matamoras, PA, and previously attended Honesdale High School, is running for Senate in Florida and continues to post on his social media pages, garnering over 422,000 followers.
