NARROWSBURG – The Narrowsburg Union, a community center and business hub, has been listed for sale for $7.5 million by SVN Deegan-Collins Commercial Realty.
The building, which was formerly the Narrowsburg Central School, is 30,000 square feet of mixed-commercial space and includes tenants such as local businesses and the Print Pack Ship office.
The total real estate sale includes the building at 7 Erie Ave. as well as 14.4 acres of land, including the school’s former athletic field located on Kirk Road, and a two-family and single-family house on the premises.
The Narrowsburg Union is owned by Brendan and Kathy Weiden, whose family has a long connection to the Narrowsburg area.
They purchased the building in 2015 and completed renovations including creating retail stores, offices, a catering kitchen and event space, as well as a paved parking lot, WiFi and other building upgrades.
The real estate listing says the building could continue as a cultural center or be redeveloped into a hospitality or mixed-use residential campus.
“The existing building is ideally suited for gallery, exhibition, hospitality, and community-oriented uses, featuring large flexible rooms, high ceilings, wide corridors, assembly spaces, ADA-compliant accessibility, ample parking, and outdoor gathering areas,” the listing states.
The school was part of the Narrowsburg, Jeffersonville and Delaware Valley (Callicoon) school system, which merged into the Sullivan West Central School District in 2000, prompting the closure of the Narrowsburg and Delaware Valley campuses.
As the Democrat reported in March of this year, the Delaware Valley school on Route 97 outside of Callicoon, which has sat vacant, sold for just over $1 million to Leb Realty LLC.
