NEVERSINK — The Town of Neversink introduced their first Local Law of 2025 during their regular Wednesday night meeting.
This Local Law would override the fiscal year of 2026 tax levy limit that was established by the General Municipal Law Section 3 for the Town of Neversink. A public hearing will be held on October 1 at 7:15 p.m.
Neversink Parks and Rec fixes for Fall
On August 28, families turned out in force for Neversink’s end-of-summer celebration at the Little League fields. Parks and Recreation Director Tanya Huggler estimated that about 275 parents and children attended the event.
“It was a great success,” Huggler recounted. “Everybody had a good time, and I think it was a great way to end the summer and send the kids back to school.”
The event featured six bounce houses, though not without a few technical challenges.
“I learned that the park doesn’t exactly have enough electric to run six bounce houses,” Huggler laughed. “I had to go home and get a generator, and I had to call Chris up to help flip some switches. But we just kept flipping the switches all night and it all worked.”
Huggler also reported receiving “a lot of great feedback” from parents and children alike.
Additionally, she outlined a busy schedule of upcoming events: a bus trip in December, a February trip to the Shadowland Theater, another Winter Fest with a Chili Cook-Off, an October Halloween movie night, and November felting classes.
“We have a lot of stuff planned and more coming,” Huggler said, noting that the town ice rink will also return this winter.
