MONTICELLO — Monticello was unable to find the end zone for the second straight week as they hosted Valley Central on Saturday. The Panthers were able to get deep into Vikings territory a few times, but couldn’t finish the drives off with points. They had their best chance to score towards the end of the third quarter, but were stopped short on a 4th and Goal inside the 5-yard line.
Neither team was really able to get anything going offensively in the first half.Mekhi Joseph caught a screen pass and ran to the end zone with 30 seconds left to put the Vikings up.
Monticello was picked off three times in the game, all of which were brought down by Valley Central’s Denzel St. John.
