Patricia “Pat” M. Buckles passed away on March 24, 2026 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. Pat was born on May 2, 1936 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Jessica and Gaylord Stainbrook. Pat was an insurance professional for thirty years and was known for her compassion and kindness to all. She was 89.

Pat was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 68 years Robert C. Buckles, and her two daughters Robin Buckles and Susan Buckles. Surviving Pat are her two sons Robert (Daniella) of Monticello, NY and Brent (Georgia) of Ocean View, Delaware. Pat is also survived by eleven grand-children who loved her beyond measure, eleven great-grandchildren, family members and many friends who also loved her so much.

Pat, lovingly known as Grandma to many, will be remembered for her warmth, generosity and many talents. A gifted baker, avid reader with an insatiable love for books and a skilled typist and bookkeeper, she lived a life marked by dedication and quiet excellence. Her home was always open - a place where everyone was welcomed as family. More than anything, Pat had a special way of making her grandchildren feel deeply loved, valued and truly seen. Her kindness, presence and unwavering love will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with a funeral service starting at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Monticello.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan County or the charity of one’s choice.
