Paula Kay announces her candidacy for NYS Assembly 100th District

ROCK HILL — Paula Kay (D, Rock Hill) kicked off her campaign today at a standing room only fundraising event at the Brew in Rock Hill. “I am so grateful to have you all here, and it is so important for me to start my campaign here in Rock Hill where Jonathan and I raised our kids Jack and Jordan, where I have worked and volunteered for the past 28 years,” Kay said. Kay was introduced by Maria Ingrassia, Legislator Matt McPhillips and Town of Thompson Supervisor Bill Rieber. “Having lived here for so long I am thrilled to be endorsed by so many fantastic officials from all parts of this district. From Congressman Pat Ryan to Assemblywoman Gunther, Mayor Joe Destefano, and Supervisor Rieber, I am honored to have the support of so many officials, and their trust to advocate for their needs in Albany. I am ready and eager to serve all residents of the 100th District, but I am also acutely aware that this Assembly Seat has historically been a chance for the residents of Sullivan County to have direct representation in Albany. We need this seat to remain in Sullivan County so that the Assembly office can continue to deliver for the people of our community, as well as the Town of Wallkill and City of Middletown. I understand the needs of all of our communities and will fight every single day on your behalf.”

“We all know the issues and problems that must be addressed, housing, water supply, infrastructure, crime, as well as support for our schools and our fire and EMS first responders. We need to rework bail reform, improve mental health care, and especially address the issues surrounding women’s health care needs,” Kay said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues at the federal, State, and local levels every day, to address these concerns, and to continue the great legacy of the representatives of this district who have preceded me, as true servants of the people,” she said.
