I think I can speak for every librarian in Sullivan County when I say we are passionate about our work. The closure of our libraries is difficult for everyone. But, we are working harder than ever to do our jobs and serve our communities. We don't take our responsibilities lightly.

Right now, our main priority is the health of our communities. We will not take the slightest chance to contribute to the spread of the virus. But, we will continue to offer every service we possibly can to provide education, entertainment, and research assistance to our patrons from a distance.

The employees of our library system, the Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS), are working hardest of all. They are keeping us informed, so we can keep you informed. I spend hours and hours going through all the information they provide to us. We have weekly video conferences so we can share ideas and frustrations, make plans and stay up to date.

I encourage everyone to look for the digital downloads on your library's website and see what's available. If reading a screen is not your thing, then try listening to an audio book. Videos and magazines are available too. We're adding to our collection constantly.

Call or email for help if you need it. We are still available to assist you. We are looking forward to the time we are able to re-open so we can serve you in person. But it may take time. So, please be patient. We ARE all in this together.
