Repair Cafe returns to Livingston Manor Library

The Repair Cafe Livingston Manor, a promoter of giving new life to worn-down objects, made its return Saturday, April 20, at the Livingston Manor Presbyterian Church (568 Old Route 17).

Attendees were invitied to share in the act of restoration alongside volunteer repairers, all seeking to extend the lifespan of treasured yet fatigued items.

“We typically diagnose and repair 30-40 items at our Repair Cafes. We fix electric appliances, lamps, clothing, guitars, small pieces of furniture, and much more. Our mission is to keep stuff out of the landfill, demonstrate the art of repair, save people money, and have fun,” said Livingston Manor Free Library Director, Peggy McGuire. “It’s first come-first served, and we have homemade snacks for those who are waiting to see our dedicated volunteer repairers!”

The next two Repair Cafes are set to take place on July 20 and October 5.
