LIVINGSTON MANOR –– The Rockland Town Board unanimously approved their 2022 budget, totaling $2,760,162, on Thursday.
This represents a .25557 percent increase from last year’s budget.
According to Supervisor Rob Eggleton, the rise in the cost of fuel, materials and insurance are the reasons for the slight increase.
Local law
Last month the Town passed a local law which impacts their planning and zoning boards.
According to Eggleton, the local law establishes three-year term limits for zoning and planning board members (it had previously been seven years). Also, those boards can now allow appointments of people from neighboring towns who may have business or other interests in the Town of Rockland.
