A Bethel Sanitation garbage truck was traveling west on the Cochecton-Newburgh Turnpike (County Route 114), half a mile from its intersection with Route 97, when it apparently got too far on the shoulder, causing it to rollover and come to rest on Brigham Rd. According to a Lake Huntington firefighter on the scene, the driver “self-extracated” himself, unhurt, from the wreck, uninjured. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Dept., Sullivan County Fly Car and Callicoon Fire Dept. also responded to the scene. The accident occurred about 2 p.m. on Monday and Prestige Towing responded with two tow trucks, and were able to right the truck and remove it from the scene.
