A lot has been going on over at the Eldred School District this past year — new clubs, new initiatives and new projects are elevating the education of students all across the district.

Leaders within the district, like Superintendent Traci Ferreira and George Ross Mackenzie Elementary Principal Michael Carpentieri, share updates and information on all things new, such as updated techniques and systems that are in the classroom to assist in the pursuit of a fair education for all, like the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and the 8:1:1 model.

The anticiapted captial bond project is also seeing progression, and will look to repair and replace the elementary school’s roof and sidewalks.

On top of all of that, the elementary school is reporting that over 75 percent of their student population is participating in the various after school clubs that are being offered this year! These clubs incorporate and encourage creativity with Legos, rock wall climbing and even cultural accuity with the Taylor Swift club, plus much more.

In this edition of the Sullivan County Democrat, readers can find more on the happenings of the Eldred School District in our School Scene special section.
