Second Annual Smallwood Halloween Walk

SMALLWOOD - We are excited to officially announce SWCA’s Second Annual Halloween Walk! SWCA members and their families are encouraged to join us on Saturday, October 30. There will be tables set-up on Lakeshore Drive around the Lake for trick-or-treaters to visit. We’ll also be adding some exciting new features this year to add fun for the whole family.

Smallwood Beach at Mountain Lake: We’ll be using Smallwood Beach as the home base for the day. Families will start and end their walk at the beach. There will be marshals coordinating parking at the lot on the corner of Pine Grove Road and Lake View Drive. After the walk, there will be activities at the beach from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. There will be a campfire at the fire pit with pre-made s’mores kits for sale ($5 each, 4 for $15). The Snack Shed will also be open and selling beverages and additional snack items.

Costume Contest: We will be hosting a costume contest at the beach. There will be multiple age groups for children and adults. Each group will be judged for: Best Overall Costume, Most Original Costume and Scariest Costume. The contest will be held at 4:30 p.m.

Sponsorship Opportunities to support the Children’s Playground Fund: We are offering local companies the opportunity to sponsor the walk this year. Please visit the SWCA Website to download a copy of the Sponsorship Form here: smallwoodcivicassociation.org/Halloween-Sponsor. A copy of the form is also available at the end of this email. Sponsors should fill out the form and email the completed version back to Mary Scofield (mscofieldsmallwoodcivic@gmail.com). Please email Mary with any questions regarding sponsorship opportunities.

SWCA Members and their families are invited to bring tables and set them up around the Lake to distribute treats. We would love to see as many tables as possible around the lake as possible offering different treats to participants. If you would like to participate, please complete the “SWCA Member Family Participant” section of the form found HERE. There is no cost for SWCA Members and their families to set up their own tables, but we do need you to notify us if you plan to participate. Please submit the form below as soon as possible. We will coordinate all participants and assign specific locations around the Lake for tables to be set-up.

If you have any questions, please email us at smallwoodcivic@gmail.com.
