MONTICELLO — Senior Legislative Action Committee of Sullivan County is hosting a Monthly Meeting at 10 AM, on Friday, March 29 in the Legislative Hearing Room, at the Sullivan County Government Center, Monticello, NY.

It is apparent that some legislators do not support keeping the Adult Care Center under County management. We ask that all SLAC members and friends please go to any of the following meetings with either signs and/or public comment. Let us fill the room.

At 9:00 a.m. March 21, is an Executive Committee meeting.

There is a Special Meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee Thursday, March 21, at 9:30 a.m., chaired by Catherine (Cat) Scott.

At 11:00 a.m. March 21 is the County Legislature meeting.

Our freedoms and democracy depend on our involvement and participation in our government at all levels. There are many ways to foster positive change. There will be a discussion on the following:

• How to be an effective activist.

• What are the rules of engagement?

• What are your rights under the Open’s Law?

• How to make your government more transparent.

• What are your rights when making a FOIL, Freedom of Information Law, request?

• Adult Care Center and the Certificate of Need

• Update: Legislature’s position as of late.

• Department of Health Certificate of Need process.

• Infinite Care is applying.
