SULLIVAN COUNTY– This week’s check-in for the Sullivan 180 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge shows that Grahamsville Fire Department is maintaining a slight lead over Kauneonga Lake Fire Department, with only 12 points separating the two.
Kauneonga Lake has increased its score by 60 points since our last update, while Smallwood-Mongaup Valley has gained 15 points in the past week. Weight training is an excellent indoor activity to help stay active, especially during cold and rainy weather, and it offers numerous health benefits.
Exercising with weights has been proven to aid in weight management, build muscle, manage chronic conditions, and even enhance cognitive skills. These factors are particularly important for our friends in the emergency services. Smallwood-Mongaup Valley make weight training a group activity at their department.”
