LIBERTY – The Sullivan BOCES 2026-27 Administrative Budget, totaling $3.7 million, was approved by the BOCES component school boards on April 28.

Sullivan BOCES is pleased to announce the appointment of three members to its Board, each of whom will begin their terms on July 1. Incumbent Amador Laput, representing Eldred Central School District, was re-elected. Two new members, Maureen Crescitelli, representing Liberty Central School District, and Lori Orestano-James, representing Monticello Central School District, will also join the Board.

Crescitelli will replace Erin Abplanalp, who filled the remaining one-year term previously held by the late Anthony Sinacore (Liberty CSD). Orestano-James will represent Monticello, a seat previously held by Susan Horton.

Sullivan BOCES extends its heartfelt appreciation to Susan Horton for her years of dedicated service on the Board. Since 2015, Horton has been a committed advocate for students and a thoughtful leader in guiding the organization’s work. Her steady leadership, collaborative approach, and deep understanding of the needs of the region’s schools have played a key role in advancing programs and initiatives that benefit students and families. Sullivan BOCES is honored to have had such a dedicated individual contributing to its mission.

Sullivan BOCES Board members represent each of its component districts. They are elected by the boards of education of those districts, not by the general public, and serve three-year terms.
