The Sullivan County Long Beards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation proudly concluded its annual JAKES Youth Buck Contest over Columbus Day Weekend, celebrating the achievements of young hunters. This year’s contest brought 13 bucks to official scoring locations across the county. As in previous years, several youths were first‑time hunters, each harvesting respectable bucks and gaining valuable experience in ethical, safe, and responsible hunting practices.
The chapter recognizes the mentors who dedicated their time and expertise to guide youth afield. Their commitment ensures the continued success of this program and the development of future conservation‑minded sportsmen and sportswomen.
