LAKE HUNTINGTON – For the first time in 19 years, the Sullivan West Men’s Alpine Team placed first in the Division 9 Giant Slalom race at Belleayre this past Tuesday, January 28.  The team also has the potential to have a number of the men qualify for Sectionals as well.

A blend of seasoned veterans and promising new talent, they're all aiming to give the Bulldogs a strong presence on snow.

The team’s resurgence is led by senior Parker Tyler who currently ranks in the top four in Division 9. Junior Tyler Brockner, has demonstrated grit in the course with strong finishes that places him in contention for a possible Section 9 opportunity.

This season also brings fresh energy to the Bulldogs in 9th grader Aden Speers and two 7th graders who made the varsity ski team-Ian Pammer and Ken McCullough.  These athletes have earned impressive results for the Bulldogs that can only add strength to the team as they grow and gain more experience.

The addition and development of these athletes signifies a trend within the team: a strategic emphasis on building depth to ensure continuing success for the future.

The team concludes the regular season with two slalom races at Holiday Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on February 4 and 5.  Seeding for Sectionals will take place shortly after the last slalom race.
