MONTICELLO – Village of Monticello Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, August 16 at approximately 2:55 A.M. An 18-year-old Monticello male was shot in both legs while on a sidewalk at the Woodlands Village apartment complex located on Moon Manor Road. The victim was transported by a private vehicle to the emergency room at Garnet Catskills Medical Center in Harris and then subsequently was transported to Garnet Orange Medical Center.

Anyone with information about this incident can call Monticello Police in confidence at 845-794-4422. There is no information available at this time on any suspects and Police only became aware of the incident after the victim was brought to the hospital. Monticello Police were assisted by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
