SUNY Sullivan partnering with Healthy Kids

LOCH SHELDRAKE –– For the first time since 2013, SUNY Sullivan is offering childcare.
The college has launched a new preschool program available now on campus to children of both students and staff. The Early Learning Center was created in partnership with the Healthy Kids Programs, which will oversee all aspects of the Center’s operation.

“There are many impediments to completing a college education: transportation, finances, academic preparation, childcare to name a few,” said SUNY Sullivan President Jay Quaintance. “As a full service community college, SUNY Sullivan believes it is our responsibility to help our students overcome as many of these as possible. We are very excited to again offer an onsite daycare option for our students, faculty and staff! This facility, in partnership with Healthy Kids, will provide a high quality service that is much needed in Sullivan County.”

Enrollment is available for children from age 3 up to Kindergarten age. Children may be enrolled either full or part time; childcare will be available during all on-campus class times. Space is limited so students and staff should reserve their space as soon as possible.

Fees are based on a sliding scale and DSS is accepted.

Healthy Kids has operated high-quality and affordable child care programs since 2003, in over 60 public schools and 19 counties. Early Learning Center classrooms offer a sensory area, reading area, art area, manipulative area, dramatic play area, and more.

With locations across New York State, the Healthy Kids Programs’ Early Learning Centers provide safe, nurturing, and engaging early learning environments that effectively support the needs of children to enter kindergarten with the social, emotional, and academic skills to be happy and successful.
