Supervisor Rappaport concludes time in office

FALLSBURG — The Town of Fallsburg bids farewell to a transformative era as Supervisor Kathy Rappaport, the first female Hispanic supervisor, concludes her final days in office. Supervisor Rappaport has been a beacon of dedication and inclusivity, leaving an indelible mark on the community during her tenure. Joined by Dr. Sean Wall-Carty, Deputy Town Supervisor. They presented as a symbol of appreciation, keys to the Town of Fallsburg to some outstanding community members, recognizing their unwavering commitment to Fallsburg’s prosperity.

Among the honored recipients are individuals from The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, including Robert Ladenhauf, Lara Biella, Christopher Meyer, John Paxton, Jeremy Knapp, Ashley Friedel, and Executive Director Regina McKenny-Snead. Their tireless efforts have significantly contributed to the betterment of our community. Additionally, keys to the town were presented to community members Ellen Bresky, from the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley Perishable Product Manager Amy Robillard, and Sullivan County Head Start Executive Director Bertha Williams for their exceptional contributions to the town’s growth and well-being.

Finally, a special tribute was extended to Chief Simmie Williams, who retires as of June 6, 2024, after an exemplary 32 years of service. Chief Williams leaves behind a legacy of commitment, leadership, and a safer community.

Supervisor Kathy Rappaport and Deputy Supervisor Dr. Sean Wall-Carty expressed their gratitude for the remarkable service of these individuals and encourages them and others to continue in leading the community into a bright and inclusive future.
