Susan Giangiacomo, 73, of Avon Park, Florida, formerly of Swan Lake, NY, passed away peacefully on June 19, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Born on January 4, 1953, at Loomis Hospital in Liberty, New York, to Carl and Margaret Ulrich, Susan was raised in Neversink/Grahamsville and graduated from Tri-Valley Central High School. She carried with her throughout life the lessons of kindness, hard work, and compassion that were instilled in her growing up in Sullivan County.

Susan spent many years working as a stockbroker and office manager, where she was known for her organizational skills, professionalism, and dedication to customer service. Outside of work, she found joy in collecting seashells, reading, and watching movies with her grandchildren. She had a warm smile, a generous heart, and an easygoing personality that made everyone she met feel welcome. Susan treasured the time she spent with her family and was a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Joe Giangiacomo and his wife, Amanda, and their sons, Dominick and Derrick, of Rock Hill, NY; Jen Snodderley and her husband, Chris, of Massachusetts; and Jonathan Giangiacomo and his wife, Dana, and their children, Michael and Kayleigh, of North Carolina. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Hess; Brenda Distel and her husband, Lenny, and their children, Andrew and Tim; and her sister-in-law, Fran DeBlasio, her husband, Bill, and their children, Billy and Lisa, and their families.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, John Giangiacomo, and by her parents, Carl and Margaret Ulrich.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Liberty, New York, a parish that Susan faithfully called her church home for a large part of her life. They may be mailed to: St. Peter's Church, 264 N. Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754.
