As Thanksgiving approaches, we want to take this moment to thank you–our readers.

We work hard every day to publish news that we think is worthy of your attention, and it’s a feat that often goes without recognition.

But we know that we would not exist without you.

And in fact, we do receive feedback every so often (some positive, some negative). Of course, as a newspaper we correct the record if we got something wrong. But it feels great to get positive feedback too–your compliments on a specific story, or just reaching out to say you enjoy reading the paper.

With our recent re-design we got back some glowing reviews and we couldn’t be happier to bring you a new and improved design that highlights all our news stories, community events, columns and sports.

Again–we couldn’t do it without you picking up and reading the paper.

Now is a great time to subscribe if you don’t already do so or give a subscription as a gift! Call our office at 845-887-5200.

Lastly, we are thankful for this community. As you can see, this issue is filled with stories of people giving back, in the form of food drives and Thanksgiving donations.

Wow, what a strong turnout of people just showing up to help where they can.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, from all of us at the Sullivan County Democrat.
