We may be a little bit late (just like dad is picking you up from practice), but we would be remiss not to acknowledge Father’s Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, June 21.
Thank you to all the dads—new dads who are holding a newborn for the first time; old dads who have seen it all from diapers to drivers’ licenses and now may be welcoming grandkids; and soon-to-be dads who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a little one.
For those who have lost their fathers, the day can bring a mix of emotions—memories of lessons learned, traditions shared and the lasting imprint left behind. The words and values passed down often continue long after a father is gone.
Father’s Day is often thought of with traditions like backyard BBQ’s and cards, but being a dad goes beyond the holiday.
It’s teaching you how to ride a bike, coaching a little league game, or watching the dance recital. It’s being there in times of joy and times of need—offering some good-old dad advice.
The memories made and the words of wisdom will last a lifetime.
Happy Father’s Day to all of our readers!
