The economy and seeing positive

Posted

Greetings everyone, it’s been a while since I last wrote here. It’s not always easy to churn out an article. I’m looking forward to continuing and I hope the ideas will flow easily.

In occasion of resuming the writing I want to write something that will seem at first controversial but with further elaboration I think people will agree to the point and it will offer an interesting perspective.

I will present the point in the style of deductive reasoning, with two premises and a conclusion.

The conclusion is that if Donald Trump would have been the current president the country would have been in a strong economic recession.

This is based on two premises. Premise #1 has two parts: 1) The main cause for recessions is the general public’s withdrawal of economic activity because of fear. 2) The main force shaping public sentiment is the media.

Premise #2: The media has consistently published negative stories about Trump and his presidency. This can be true for various reasons, but most people will not disagree with this point. Some would say that the media is heavily biased against Trump, others will say that Trump is the cause for the negative stories, others will say that the media operates with a certain mindset and Trump is an out-of-the-norm kind of president, so he gets irregular coverage.

Whatever the reason is, we can fairly say that if Trump would have currently been president the media would have hyped up stories about weaknesses in the economy and that would have been a main cause for fear and hence withdrawal of economic activity.

For the people who don’t want to see Trump as president they are for sure relieved with the fact that he is not. Even the people who do want him as current president and even those who even feel that it is unfairly so, there is still a positive in that there is no economic recession despite the weaknesses in the economy.

Why should I be writing about this?

To me, it is reassuring to know that there is an Orchestrater for everything who works together with the free will of people and still has it His way, of course I mean G-d!

Judaism believes in Divine Providence and at the same time that humans have free will. Although these two ideas seem to contradict each other, there is many explanations on why they don’t, which we can discuss at another opportunity. The Jewish belief is to believe in both facts that there is Divine Providence together with human free will.

In my belief, G-d works with the free will of the media’s enormous influence on society, and still has it His way. Thank G-d that it is his will that there shouldn’t be a recession and the flow of prosperity should continue in the United States. May it be so for many long years!
